This Christmas:
Donate to the charity
‘Workers’ Fund Iran’
For a truly worthwhile Christmas
present: Make a donation to
the charity Workers’ Fund and it will send a glossy, full
colour Christmas card with an Iranian motif to the person in whose
name you made the donation (minimum donation £10).
WFI was set up in
December 2005
and aims to reduce and relieve poverty amongst Iranian workers (both
employed and unemployed) who are victims of the crippling effects of
sanctions and the neoliberal economic policies of the Iranian regime,
including privatisations. At the centre of WFI’s activities
is the need to rebuild international working class solidarity, directly
with the workers of Iran - in contrast to the funds set up by the US
administration to support those Iranian NGOs who follow US policy
in the region. WFI is strictly independent of any political
organisation/group inside or outside Iran and its members represent an
array of different tendencies within the Iranian Labour movement. The
campaign is supported by an impressive list of sponsors, including
Cliff Slaughter, Professor Istvan Meszaros, Terry Brotherstone, Liz
Leicester, Hillary Horrocks, Simon Pirani, Christine Cooper, Anton
Mactonian and others.
You can donate here:

or send cheques (made payable to Workers Fund Iran)
to Nationwide Treasurer Trust
Fund, 290
Byres Road, Lanarkshire G12 8AW UK.
Make sure
to tell
WFI the person's name and address that you want the card sent to. Of
course, you can also give this as a Christmas present to yourself!
